Pension – SIPP

SIPP

A SIPP (Self-Invested Personal Pension) lets you take direct control of investing for your retirement.

The majority of pensions offer a limited selection of investment funds. A SIPP opens up a wide range of choice of investments to you including funds and equities.

Developed with AJ Bell Management Ltd, one of the UK's leading SIPP administrators, we provide you with efficient pension plan administration combined with easy, cost-effective dealing.

Significant tax benefits

The Government will contribute 20% of every gross contribution you pay - meaning a £1,000 investment in your SIPP costs you just £800.

Higher rate tax payers can benefit even more - claiming back a further £200 via your tax returns if you have enough income or gains in the higher rate tax bracket.

On retirement

You choose when and how to withdraw funds from your SIPP subject to the following limits::

  • between the ages of 55 and 75 (50 and 75 before April 2010)
  • up to 25% of your fund as a cash lump sum, free from tax. The rest is then used to give you a taxable income in retirement

Investment carries a variety of risks

We understand that investing isn't right for everyone. It's well known that investments, their value and the income they provide can go down as well as up and you might not get back what you originally invested. If you're not sure about the suitability of an investment please contact our Advice team.
