Trader option – is it right for you?

You don't need to be a professional trader to benefit from our Trader option. If you are expecting to trade frequently or invest a significant lump sum, our Trader option may be more cost effective.

Trader option – costs

Trader option, charge per quarter	£20.00 + VAT
Real-time dealing charge, per £25,000	£7.50

Regardless of how many accounts you have, you pay a fixed amount for each transaction with the Trader option rather than a percentage of the investment.

You can buy or sell shares up to the value of £25,000 for a flat dealing commission of £7.50 with the Trader option. Deals over this size are charged at an additional £7.50 per £25,000 of value or part thereof.

When do I pay and is this a one-off charge?

The Trader option fee is paid when the option is first set up and then quarterly thereafter until you cancel it.

When selecting the Trader option, do I also pay the administration fee?

Yes, you are also charged the administration fee with a DIY ISA. There is no administration fee for a Funds ISA.

What if a deal is over £25,000?

Deals up to the value of £25,000 are charged a fixed dealing charge of £7.50 with the Trader option. Deals over this size are charged at an additional £7.50 per £25,000 of value or part thereof.

Example – £90,000 deal

if you buy £90,000 of Vodafone shares, you will be charged £30.00 dealing charge + 0.5% stamp duty (£450.00) + PTM levy (£1.00).

How do I change my Trader option?

If you'd like to switch to or from the Trader option please call our Customer Service team on 01296 41 41 41 or email us at service@share.co.uk quoting your customer reference number.

Please be aware that it may take us up to three working days to process your instructions. You will continue to deal on the Trader option tariff until the end of the quarter.
